Adult Formation

Join us every Sunday at 9 a.m. to learn about different topics about the church, current events in the world, Episcopal theology, and so many other interesting topics. We have guest speakers, watch movies, conduct presentations, and much more!

Sunday School and Godly Play

Sunday School follows the formation curriculum from Weaving God's Promises, this is designed for ages 3 to 11 and youth ages for 12 to 14. Each curriculum features learning about the Holy Eucharist, to church seasons around the year, to learning we have the gift of god inside our hearts. During each session, a craft will be completed with a handout to take home. During church service, child daycare is also provided from infants to toddlers.

Daughters of the King

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the vision is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

Outreach

We members of CEC do outreach out of our joy from our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and out of our desire to build on and strengthen that relationship through working together and with ‘the stranger.’ We do outreach as individuals, in welcoming, serving, and giving, and as a community, in our shared ministries.

SwaziCompanions

In 2005, a group of SwaziCompanions was formed at Christ Episcopal Church. We are in relationship with the people of the Anglican Diocese of Swaziland, and to raise funds to build a school in rural Swaziland (now Eswatini). The Christ Church SwaziCompanions have had fundraisers to support the Neighborhood Care Points feeding programs, gardens, home/hospice care and water projects in a country with a high level of AIDS, poverty and drought. We build community, strengthen our faith and enlarge our world as we hold events to raise funds, and visit and interact with the people of the Diocese of Swaziland, Eswatini. All funds raised at Christ Church are forwarded to the Diocese of Iowa office to be wired in entirety to the Diocese of Swaziland and used primarily to support the Neighborhood Care Points (feeding stations) in rural Eswatini.
